1958
Two-Way Radio Systems
The Comtronics Communications Division was born in 1958 with the sale of its first two-way radio. -
1970
Burglar/Fire Alarms, 24-Hour Alarm Monitoring
Not only did Comtronics begin selling alarms in 1970, it started its own alarm monitoring station. Unlike many security companies who subcontract monitoring stations, Comtronics has been self-sufficient from the beginning. -
1974
24-Hour Superior Answering Service
In 1974 the Comtronics Communications Division began offering a full service 24-hour answering service. -
1979
Video Surveillance Systems
In 1979 the Security Division expanded to include video surveillance systems. Today, this has become a large part of the company, which now includes 21st century technology. Comtronics carries covert surveillance cameras, high-resolution color cameras, digital video recorders (DVR's), flat screen video monitors, and remote video surveillance equipment. -
1988
Card Access Systems
With the release of Security Access Systems, Comtronics rounded out its Security Division. Now Comtronics can completely satisfy the security needs of a business. -
1999
Comtronics Merger
Walker Capital Corp. acquires Comtronics on January 8, 1999.
Nextel Communications
Comtronics got its start in the cellular industry on June 5, 1999 by becoming a Nextel Authorized Representative. With the Sprint/Nextel merger in 2004, Comtronics added Sprint products to their line up. -
2001
2001 Small Business Person of the Year, John A. Campau, president and CEO of Comtronics. -
2003
ALLTEL Communications
Comtronics continues to grow its cellular operation by adding ALLTEL to its product line in April 2003. -
2006
John Campau honored by “The Jackson Citizen Patriot” for his community service work with the award for Citizen of the Year 2006. -
2008
Mr. Philip Campau, Sr. founder of Comtronics dies.
Brown Street location opens. -
2009
With the merger of Verizon Wireless and Alltel, Comtronics expanded the cellular line into the Verizon Wireless network. -
2009
Honeywell Security products are added to Comtronics security services. -
2011
Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer
Comtronics partners with Verizon Wireless supporting the largest high speed and most reliable wireless network in America. Verizon’s diverse product lineup, extensive network and satisfied customer base made partnering with Verizon a perfect fit with Comtronics goals to provide excellent customer service.
