1958
(Two-Way Radio
Systems) - The Comtronics Communications
Division was born in 1958 with the sale of its first two-way radio.
1970 (Burglar/Fire Alarms, 24-Hour Alarm
Monitoring)
- Not only did Comtronics begin selling alarms in 1970, but it started
its own alarm monitoring station. Unlike many security companies who
subcontract monitoring stations, Comtronics has been self-sufficient
from the beginning.
1974 (24-Hour Superior
Answering Service) - In 1974 the Comtronics
Communications Division began offering a full service 24-hour answering
service.
1979 (Video Surveillance
Systems) - In 1979 the Security Division
expanded to include video surveillance systems. Today, this has become
a large part of the company, which now includes 21st century
technology. Comtronics carries disguised surveillance cameras, high
resolution color cameras, digital video recorders (DVR's), flat screen
video monitors, and remote video surveillance equipment.
1981 (Business Telephone
Systems and Voice
Mail) - In 1981 the Comtronics Communications
Division became even more diverse. By offering Telephone Systems and
Voice Mail, Comtronics began offering businesses advanced solutions to
complex internal communication problems.
1988 (Card
Access Systems) - With the release of Security
Access Systems, Comtronics rounded out its Security Division. Now
Comtronics could completely satisfy the security needs of a business.
1992 (High Speed Data Cabling)
- In 1992 Comtronics started offering businesses cabling services. This
is the last component of the Communications Division.
1994 (Home Theater Systems)
- In 1994 Comtronics began offering Home Theater Systems.
1999 (Comtronics Merger)
- Walker Capital Corp. acquires Comtronics on January 8, 1999.
1999 (Nextel
Communications)
- Comtronics got its start in the cellular industry June 5, 1999 by
becoming a Nextel Authorized Representative.
2003 (ALLTEL Communications)
- Comtronics continues to grow its cellular operation by adding ALLTEL
to its product line in April 2003.
